Is World of Warcraft Gold Buying Becoming A Problem?

By Dan Enlow

World of Warcraft, the largest MMORPG (massively multiplayer online roleplaying game), has seen a whole lot of attention be it from television with the South Park episode or just in the news, as more and more gold sellers seem to be popping up and making fortunes from selling in-game currency (World of Warcraft gold).

Obviously selling World of Warcraft gold in-game is against Blizzard’s EULA but with the thousands and thousands of players buying gold that really doesn’t stop them at all. It also doesn’t seem to stop the gold sellers either. Blizzard has stated many times that buying gold hurts the in-game economy.

How does it hurt the World of Warcraft in-game economy?

The in-game economy as of right now shows a perfect example of supply and demand with items. People will throw in by saying it isn’t fair for people to use “real” money to buy gold as it gives someone with more “real” money an advantage. They are exactly right but why should it be fair. In this day and age is our economy fair? On the other side of the coin, is it really fair to the casual players that have a limited amount of time to play and wouldn’t be able to even get close to matching the hardcore gamers?

Anyway, it really isn’t making a difference too much in-game. What it does is it evens out the playing field for the casual World of Warcraft gamer. It is mostly making a difference in the “real money” gold prices of the different WoW gold sellers. Since Blizzard has banned another 76,000 accounts and took out another 11 million gold from the game, we have seen gold prices soar from around $40 for 1000 gold all the way up to $200 for 1000 gold.

You can keep an eye on the different gold prices and you can always buy gold cheaper from a “no name” WoW gold seller but I recommend that you check out the reviews of the different big name World of Warcraft gold sellers and choose from those as service is just as important as the gold.

Dan Enlow, co-owner and operater of Warcraft Gold Reviews takes the time to give accurate reviews of the different World of Warcraft gold sellers. Like a lot of people Dan is tired of getting scammed by not so legit gold sellers. Avoid getting scammed by checking out Warcraft Gold Reviews!
